OL98: Clicking Cut on Edit Menu Appears not to Work

SYMPTOMS

When you highlight a document from within Microsoft Outlook 98 and click Cut on the Edit menu, no visible changes occur to indicate that the operation was successful. This also happens when you use the right mouse button to click a document, and then click Cut on the shortcut menu.

Although you can still see the item, the item has actually been moved to the Clipboard and will be removed once you have completed the Paste operation into another folder.

CAUSE

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

By contrast, Windows Explorer will change the item to unavailable (grayed out) when you click Cut on either the Edit menu or the shortcut menu.
