OL98: Error Starting Outlook Ater Choosing Add/Remove in SetupID: Q182749

When you start Microsoft Outlook 97 you receive one of the following error messages:
-or-The file C:\Windows\application data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.ost is not compatible with this version of the Personal Folders information service. Contact your administrator. Access Violation in Outlook.exe
The file C:\winnt\profiles\<username>\application data\microsoft\outlook\outlook.ost is not compatible with this version of the Personal Folders information service. Contact your administrator.
Where <username> refers to the user who is currently logged on to the computer.You then receive an Offline Folder File Settings dialog box which to select a valid .OST file.
This is followed by:Unable to open your default mail folders. The information store could not be opened.
Would you like to open your default File System folder instead?
You chose the Add/Remove option in Maintenance Mode Setup to remove and
reinstall Outlook 97 after removing Outlook 98.

You have the Microsoft Exchange Server service in your profile.
Remove and replace the Microsoft Exchange Server service for Outlook. This
is a two step process.
