OL98: How to Install Outlook with Internet Explorer 5 Already Installed

The information in this article applies to:

SUMMARY

Outlook Active Setup includes Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01. If you already have Internet Explorer 5 installed, it is not necessary to install Internet Explorer 4.01 again.

During Active Setup, select Upgrade only newer items to preserve your installation of Internet Explorer 5.


MORE INFORMATION

During the Preparing Setup stage of Outlook Active Setup, you will receive the following message:

The most recent versions of some items are already installed. To save time, we recommend upgrading only items that have changed since your last installation.
There are two options from which to select. Click to select Upgrade only newer items, and click OK to continue the Active Setup process.
