ID: Q180669
|
The information in this article applies to:
SUMMARY
You can access a Contact's entry information based on a resolved e-mail
address. Outlook will use the e-mail address to find a match in your
primary Contacts folder. If the Contact is in a subfolder, no match will be
found.
MORE INFORMATION
The Look Up Contact feature allows you to quickly move from a resolved
e-mail address in a message to its associated contact.
To use the Look Up Contact feature, follow these steps:
- Right-click a resolved e-mail address in an open mail message.
- On the shortcut menu, click Look Up Contact.
When Outlook attempts to match the e-mail address with a contact, it only
looks at the contacts in your primary Contacts folder. Although you can
create Contact folders in other places, Outlook does not search for the
e-mail name for Contacts in those folders.
The primary Contacts folder is the Contacts folder located in the same
folder as the Inbox to which mail is delivered.
To locate your primary Contacts folder, follow these steps:
- On the View menu, click Folder List.
- On the Go menu, click Contacts. In the Folder list, note which Contacts
folder is selected.
