This article describes how to display a horizontal scroll bar for any of the Microsoft Outlook 98 table views.
In the table view of any Outlook folder, you can change the widths of the columns; however, the columns must fit on the screen. There is no horizontal scroll bar or an option to increase column width so that some of them expand to the right of the screen. To have the columns retain their width and expand to the right of the screen, you must enable a horizontal scroll bar.
Follow these steps to display the horizontal scroll bar:
1. On the View menu, point to Current View, and click Customize Current
View.
2. Click Other Settings and click to clear the Automatic Column Sizing
check box. Click OK and OK.
Now, if you size a column wider than will fit on the screen, you can scroll
to the right. The Automatic Column Sizing option is unique to the folder
you have open when you change the setting.
