OL98: Incorrect Readme File Installed by Outlook SetupID: Q183122
|
When you run Setup for Microsoft Outlook 98 from the Outlook download page on the Microsoft Web site or from the CD-ROM, a Readme file titled, Olreadme.txt is installed in the Office folder. This file is not correct for Outlook.
A version of the Olreadme.txt from the previous release of Outlook was inadvertently left in one of the folders containing Outlook Setup resources.
The correct version of the readme file is located on the root of the
Outlook CD-ROM. In order to assure that you have the latest information
about Outlook, you should open and read or print this file.
If you installed from the Microsoft Web site, the correct file is not
available on your local installation. To obtain a copy of the correct
readme file, see the Reference section below.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 98. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
