OL98: News Reader Installation Error Using CD from PC Computing

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Outlook 98 using the compact disc (CD-ROM) bundled with "PC Computing" magazine, you may receive the following message:

Installation is incomplete

Setup will now restart Windows. Save any work and close all applications before clicking OK.

The following Outlook 98 and Internet Explorer 4.01 components were not installed:

MORE INFORMATION

The message is not correct. The Outlook Newsreader is installed, but the shortcut on the Start menu is missing.

To start the Outlook News Reader, start Outlook and click News on the Go menu.

NOTE: Microsoft Outlook will not appear in the list of News Programs in Microsoft Internet Explorer.
