OL98: Overlapped Characters When Printing Contacts

The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMS
When you print your Microsoft Outlook 98 Contacts using a Hewlett-Packard
(HP) DeskJet 850 or 870 printer with version 9.2 driver, you may
experience any of the following symptoms:
- The printed characters may overlap.
- Your printer may stop printing and display the message, "Can not
communicate with LPT1."
- You may receive the message, "Data required by the printer driver
cannot be found or has been corrupted. Restart Windows and try printing
again."
Following any messages printing may resume; however, the characters print
on top of each other.
NOTE: Although unconfirmed by Microsoft, some customers have reported
these symptoms with the following HP DeskJet models:
820CSE 855C Office Jet 600 series
550C 694c 1150C (OfficeJet Pro)
520 692c OfficeJet 570
RESOLUTION
Use the HP DeskJet Plus, 500, 500c. 550, or 560 printer driver.

Steps to Reproduce the Problem
The following steps demonstrate this problem:
- On the Outlook Bar, click Contacts to open your default Contacts list.
- On the View menu, point to Current View, and click Address Cards.
- On the File menu, click Print to open the Print dialog.
- In the Print style list, click Medium Booklet Style.
- In the Name list click the HP DeskJet 850/870 series driver.
- Click OK to print your Contacts.
