OL98: Reminder and Private Symbols Show As Boxes

SYMPTOMS

When viewing an appointment or meeting in the Outlook Calendar folder, the reminder, private, or recurrence symbols show as boxes or strange symbols.


CAUSE

This is caused by a missing or corrupted MS Outlook font.


RESOLUTION

Reinstall the MS Outlook font.

To reinstall the MS Outlook font, follow these steps:

  1. Search for and rename the file, Outlook.ttf, if it exists.


  2. Run Setup to reinstall the font.
