OL98: Task Owner Field is "Me" Instead of User NameID: Q180483
|
When you create a new task in Microsoft Outlook 98, the owner may be displayed as "Me" instead of your name.
Outlook assigns the task owner based on the user information of the e-mail
transport service. If the e-mail transport service contains a user name
entry, that name becomes the owner of a new task. Some mail transport
services (such as MSN 1.3 and 2.0) do not contain a user name in the
service properties, so the task owner becomes "Me."
This may also occur if the Microsoft Exchange Server service or Microsoft Mail transport service is unavailable when the task is created. Once the service becomes available, any new tasks display the correct name.
