If you create a PowerPoint presentation that automatically displays the current date in a foreign language, the date information may be translated into English if the presentation is saved in Microsoft PowerPoint 4.0 format.
PowerPoint uses a meta-character representation to automatically display the current date when a presentation is opened. This formatting is not supported by PowerPoint 4.0. During the conversion process, the meta-character is replaced with the current date in English.
The date information must be reformatted in PowerPoint 4.0, or if the date information is not set to update automatically, then this behavior will not occur. To set the date manually, follow these steps:
