PPT2000: Web Pages Always Have Frames

SUMMARY

There is no way to disable the frame pages layout for a PowerPoint 2000 Web presentation as you can in Microsoft PowerPoint 7.0 for Windows 95 or PowerPoint 97. The layout will make use of frames with the same elements; Outline, Navigation controls, and Slides always appear in the same location.

If you want to view your presentation without frames, you can use one of the following methods to bypass or disable them.

Method 1: Bypass the Frames

You can hyperlink to the file: fullscreen.htm. This file opens the saved presentation in a full screen format, and displays it on your screen.

This file is located in the PresentationName_files folder. Where PresentationName refers to the file name of your presentation.

Method 2: Disable Navigation Controls

NOTE: If you disable slide navigation controls, you will be unable to navigate your presentation in a Web browser, unless you use Action Settings on you slides. For additional information, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

You can disable slide navigation controls in your web presentation which will force your web presentation to open in full-screen mode. To disable slide navigation controls, follow these steps:
  1. With your presentation open, on the File menu, click Save as Web Page.


  2. On the Tools menu in the Save As dialog box, click Web Options.


  3. On the General tab, click the clear the Add slide navigation contols check box, and click OK.


  4. Click Save.
