The Microsoft PowerPoint AutoCorrect feature has a "Capitalize First Letter of Sentence" option. You may find that this AutoCorrect feature works on the first bullet item you type, but when you try to type a second or third bullet item it does not function properly.
The "Capitalize First Letter of Sentence" option capitalizes the first letter of a word if that word follows a period, question mark, or exclamation point. If you do not end each of your bullet items with one of these punctuation marks, the next word is not automatically capitalized.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
It is often correct to end a bullet item without a punctuation mark. However, in order to use the "Capitalize First Letter of Sentence" feature, you must type a punctuation mark at the end of each bullet item.
