The information in this article applies to:
You can add a hyperlink to your presentation and then use it to link to a variety of locations. You can create a hyperlink from any text or object, and then you can either click the hyperlink or hold the mouse over it to start its action. You can insert hyperlinks in several different ways. For example, you can insert a hyperlink in the Action Settings dialog box (Slide Show menu) or you can click Hyperlink on the Insert menu.
If you use the arrow keys to scroll through the Hyperlink To list in the Action Settings dialog box, you cannot scroll to the end of the list. The Link To Custom Show dialog box will open when the focus is on Custom Show. The issue is the same for either the Mouse Click or the Mouse Over tab.
When you use the arrow keys to select any of the following items in the Hyperlink To list, PowerPoint requires further information and displays an additional dialog box:
Use either of the following work arounds to select an item in the Hyperlink To list without opening an additional dialog box:
Click an item in the list instead of using the arrow keys.
Type the first letter of the item you want to scroll to instead of using the arrow keys. For example, type "c" to select Custom Show, "s" to select Slide, "u" to select URL, and "o" to select Other PowerPoint Presentation.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
