If you create an Equation Editor object that contains horizontal braces you will not be able to open or edit the object again. If you double-click the Equation Editor object, you receive this error message:
This equation contains elements that are not available in Equation
Editor.
After you click OK, the existing equation is lost.
Upgrade to Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows Service Release 1 (SR-1). You can obtain this update from the following Microsoft World Wide Web site:

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. The problem was corrected in Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows Service Release 1 (SR-1).
