PPT97: Error Opening File from Slide Finder's List of Favorites

SYMPTOMS

When attempting to display slides from a file you have added to the List of Favorites in the PowerPoint Slide Finder, you may get the following error message:

   PowerPoint can't open presentation <file name>.

CAUSE

This error occurs if you have typed in the name of the file without a complete and valid path.

RESOLUTION

The complete path must be inserted to be able to display the slides in a file. Highlight the file in the List of Favorites and click the Remove button.

Steps to Insert a File into the List of Favorites:

1. Click the Find Presentation tab and click the Browse button. Locate the

   appropriate file and click Open. If you know the complete path, you can
   type this information instead of browsing for the file.

2. Click the Add to Favorites button.
