The information in this article applies to:
If you record the narration for a PowerPoint 97 slide show under Windows NT Workstation version 4.0, approximately the last second of the narration for each slide skips and repeats itself.
This problem occurs when you record the narration under Windows NT version 4.0. When you play back the narration, it plays back incorrectly under Windows NT versions 3.51 and 4.0 and Windows 95. This problem does not occur when you record the narration under Windows NT version 3.51 or Windows 95. In this case, it plays correctly under Windows NT version 4.0.
While you record your narration, stop speaking at least one second before you advance to the next slide.
1. On the Slide Show menu, click Record Narration.
2. Click to select the Link Narrations In check box.
3. Click Browse, select the folder where you want to save the narration
sound files, and then click Open.
3. Record the narration for your slide show.
4. Use the Sound Recorder program (or a similar .wav file editor) to remove
the last part of each sound file. The sound file for your presentation
is saved in the folder you chose in step 3.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0.
