The presentation conferencing feature of Microsoft PowerPoint requires the Client for Microsoft Networks to be installed, in addition to TCP/IP. Presentation conferencing requires the client to be able to resolve the TCP/IP addresses to the NetBIOS names.

The Microsoft Office Resource Kit (ORK) incorrectly states that you must only have the TCP/IP protocol installed and file sharing enabled to run a presentation conference from Microsoft PowerPoint.
