In Microsoft Word, you may encounter installation errors when you try to install the supplemental macros from DOCS Open by PC DOCS.
For example, if you have DOCS Open 3.0, which isn't designed to work with Microsoft Office 97, and use Wordin70.dot to install the supplemental macros, you may encounter the following error:
"Error due to installing macros in Microsoft Word 97 from the
Wordin70.dot file."
-or-
The Open command may stop responding.
NOTE: PC Docs is a document management system, which allows centralization and management of shared documents in a network environment.
DOCS Open supplies supplemental macros in the following templates:
Wordint.dot - Word for Windows 2.0
Wordin60.dot - Word for Windows 6.x
Wordin70.dot - Word for Windows 95 version 7.0
The above templates install supporting macros that are compatible only with
the specified version of Microsoft Word. The templates are not compatible
with other versions.
If you receive this error when you try to open a document, simply rename or delete the following macros in the templates provided by DOCS Open: FileOpen, InsertFile, and InsertPicture. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Close all documents and templates in Microsoft Word.
2. On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Macros.
3. Click Organizer, and then click the Macro Project Items tab.
4. Under the "Macro Project Items available in" list, select the template
that you want to delete the macros from.
5. Use the Rename or Delete buttons to rename or delete all of the
following macros:
FileOpen
InsertFile
InsertPicture
6. Click Close to close the Organizer.
7. On the File menu, click Save As to save the template. Make sure the Save
As Type is "Document Template (*.dot)."
DOCS Open integrates with Word 97 by placing entries in the Windows registry. If DOCS Open interaction with Word malfunctions, the Open command may stop responding. For additional information, please see the following articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
