WD95: Extra Tab Inserted in Multilevel Numbered ParagraphsID: Q174997

When you open a Word 97 document in Word 7.x for Windows 95, an extra tab setting is inserted at the beginning of paragraphs formatted as Outline Numbered (Multilevel) with linked heading styles.
Word 97 bases the first line indent on an internal tab setting, and Word
7.x numbering bases the first line indent on the "distance from number to
text" setting. The Word 97 Import Converter (Mswrd832.cnv) cannot map this
feature back to the Word 7.x "distance from number to text" setting and
retains the tab.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with certain versions of the
Word 97 Import Converter.
This problem is corrected in the version of the converter available
with Microsoft Office 97 SR-2. For more information about how to obtain
