WD2000: Additional Text Converters Available in Microsoft Office Converter Pack

SUMMARY

The Microsoft Office Converter Pack includes additional text converters not included with Office 2000 Setup.

Word 2000 users can install the following text converters:

For Import and Export:

Windows® Write 3.0 or 3.1 (Write32.cnv)
RFT-DCA (Rftdca32.cnv)
Lotus Ami Pro 3.x (Ami332.cnv)
Microsoft Word 3.x, 4.x, 5.x, and 6.x for MS-DOS (Doswrd32.cnv)
Microsoft Works 3.x (Works332.cnv)

For Import Only:

WordStar 3.x - 7.x for MS-DOS (Wrdstr32.cnv)
WordStar for Windows 1.0-2.0 (Wrdstr32.cnv)

For Export Only:

WordStar 4.0 or 7.0 for MS-DOS (Wrdstr32.cnv)

NOTE: The Microsoft Office Converter Pack installs text converters in the following location:
Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\TextConv

You can install the Office Converter Pack from the Office Resource Kit CD-ROM. The Office Converter Pack must be installed separately from the other applications; it is not installed by the Office Resource Kit Setup program. To install the Office Converter Pack, run Setup.exe from the following folder on the Office Resource Kit CD-ROM:

<CD-ROM drive>\PFiles\ORKTools\ToolBox\Tools\OCP\
Follow the instructions to install the Office Converter Pack on your computer. To distribute the utilities for others to install, you need to deploy all of the files in the folder from a network installation point.

The Office Converter Pack is also available on the Office Resource Kit Web site on the World Wide Web at the following location:

Locate the Converter Pack files from the above Web site. Two files are available for download: These files are the same and will download all converters; they just have different installation methods.
