WD2000: ALT+F4 Does Not Close All Document WindowsID: Q192076
|
In Word 2000, the keystroke ALT+F4 does not close all document windows and quit Word as it did in previous versions. Instead, it closes one window at a time and quits Word when the last document is closed.
The ALT+F4 keystroke combination has been assigned to the FileCloseOrExit command, which closes all of the windows of the active document one at time.
Reassign the ALT+F4 keystroke combination to FileExit by doing the following:
In Word 97, the ALT+F4 keystroke combination is assigned to the FileExit command, which quits Microsoft Word and prompts you to save the open documents if the documents have changed. If the documents have not changed, it closes the documents and quits Word.
In Word 2000, the ALT+F4 keystroke combination is assigned to the FileCloseOrExit command, which closes the documents one at a time regardless of whether the document has changed or not.
