When you add a word to the Other Corrections exceptions list (on the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect, and then click Exceptions) and the word you add is found in your Replace text as you type list of AutoCorrections, when you type the word in a document, it is still corrected.
For example,
This behavior is by design. Entries in Other Corrections only apply to words that are corrected by the automatic spelling check feature of Word (on the Tools menu, click AutoCorrect to view the Automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker check box).
To work around this behavior, you can turn off the Automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker feature as follows:
