ERROR MESSAGE

When you are working with Word Document objects, the following error message may appear:

The server application, source file, or item cannot be found. Make sure the application is properly installed, and that it has not been deleted, moved, or renamed.

CAUSE

The application has been deleted, moved, or renamed.

You are trying to edit a WordArt object.

You are inserting a Microsoft Excel object into another program.

You are using an Image Document object under Windows NT 4.0.


WHAT TO TRY

The application has been deleted, moved, or renamed.

The application with which the object is associated is missing.

For example, when you double-click a Bitmap Image object in a Word document and the Microsoft Windows Paint application has been removed, the above error message appears.

To resolve this problem, you must re-install the missing application.
