This article describes how to install the Global Input Method Editor (IME) from the Multilanguage Pack in Microsoft Office 2000.

The Input Method Editor (IME) provides character selection for typing in East Asian languages, typically Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
To install IME support, follow these steps:
- Insert the Microsoft Multilanguage Pack for Office 2000 Disc 1 in the CD-ROM drive.
- Open the Extras folder and then open the IME folder.
- Locate the language in which you want to install IME support.
NOTE: An updated Korean IME is not provided with this release.
- If you are running a version of Windows that matches the language of the IME you are trying to install, install from the Regular folder. Double-click Setup.exe, and then follow the instructions on the screen.

If you are running a different language version of Windows, locate the Global folder and double-click it. Double-click Setup.exe and then follow the instructions on the screen.
NOTE: These Global IMEs work only with Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
