WD2000: Mail Merge Macro Fails to Record Label Number

SYMPTOMS

When you record a macro to perform a mail merge using mailing labels, the recorded macro fails to record the label number used for the mailing labels merge document.

To work around this problem, you can edit the recorded macro to include the mailing label number. For example:

In the recorded macro, find the following command line:

Application.MailingLabel.CreateNewDocument Name:="", Address:="", AutoText _ 

and change the Name:= argument to equal the mailing label number.

For example, for the 5160 mailing label, change:

Application.MailingLabel.CreateNewDocument Name:="", Address:="", AutoText _ 

to the following:

Application.MailingLabel.CreateNewDocument Name:="5160", Address:="", AutoText _ 

To edit a macro:

  1. On the Tools menu, point to Macro, and then click Macros.


  2. Click to select the macro to edit in the list of macros.


  3. Click Edit.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
