WD2000: No Response or Hang When Sending Fax to WinFax PRO

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Fax Wizard in Word to send to WinFax PRO, your fax may hang or nothing happens.


CAUSE

There are two cases that can cause this behavior:

Case 1

There is an incompatibility with WinFax PRO version 9.0 or earlier.

Case 2

Symantec has posted that the WinFax PRO 9.0 macros for Word do not work with Word 2000.


RESOLUTION

Case 1

According to Symantec, this problem can be resolved by upgrading to WinFax PRO 9.02.

Case 2

According to Symantec, revised macros will be posted on the Symantec Web site. If you are experiencing the problem described above, try modifying the macros.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
