WD2000: Outlook Stationery Not Listed in Word Themes

SYMPTOMS

When you view the list of personal stationery or themes available in Word, the Microsoft Outlook 2000 personal stationery or themes do not appear.

To view the list of personal stationery or themes in Word, do the following:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.


  2. On the General tab, click E-mail Options.


  3. On the Personal Stationery tab, click Theme.



CAUSE

The Microsoft Outlook 2000 stationery themes are set up as Installed on First Use.


RESOLUTION

You must install the Outlook stationery as Run from My Computer instead of Installed on First Use to view the themes in the Theme or Stationary dialog box in Word.

To install the Outlook stationery as Run from My Computer, do the following:

  1. On the Windows Start menu, point to Settings and then click Control Panel.


  2. Double-click to run Add/Remove Programs.


  3. Click to select the version of Office 2000 you installed, and then click Add/Remove.


  4. Click Add or Remove Features.


  5. Under Microsoft Outlook for Windows, click the Stationery icon to select Run from My Computer.


  6. Click Update Now.



MORE INFORMATION

In Word 2000, most features appear on the menus, even when the feature is not installed. This function allows you to see that a feature is available but allows the initial installation of Word to be completed more quickly than it would if all the features were installed during Setup of Word.

The Outlook 2000 themes that should appear on the menu but do not, include the following:

Currency
Old Striped Shirt
Marbled Desk
Jungle
Notebook
Office Supplies
Paw Print
Pine Lumber
Sea Marble
Tech Tools
