SYMPTOMS
When you save a Word document as a Web page, Word automatically adds a page title, even after you delete it.
NOTE: Text contained in the Page title box (on the File menu, click Save as Web Page) is displayed in the title bar of your Web browser.
WORKAROUND
Method 1: Use a Space
Instead of just deleting the text in the Page title box, type a space using the following steps:
- On the File menu, click Save as Web Page.
- In the Save As dialog box, click Change Title.
- The text in the Page title box should be selected. Press the SPACEBAR, and then click OK.
When you save your Web page document, the page title will appear blank.
Method 2: Change Document Properties
- Open your saved Web page containing a page title.
- On the File menu, click Properties.
- On the Summary tab, select the text in the Title box and then press DELETE.
- Click OK to close File Properties.
- On the File menu, click Save.
NOTE: Do not click Save As or Save as Web Page.
