WD2000: Slow Keyboard Performance While Typing in a Table

SYMPTOMS

When you type or edit text within a table, you may experience slow keyboard or screen update performance if all of the following conditions are true:

• You are working in print layout view.
• The table contains vertically merged cells.
• The table breaks onto another page.

WORKAROUND

If editing performance slows down while you are typing in a table, switch to normal view whenever possible. Normal view is the fastest view for most word-processing tasks.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
