WD2000: Table of Contents Does Not Print As It Appears

SYMPTOMS

The table of contents prints and appears in print preview with page numbers and leaders that are not visible in Word.


CAUSE

Page numbers and leaders are suppressed in a table of contents when Web Layout on the View menu is selected.
This is by design. Web layout view suppresses the display of page numbers and leaders, because they are not carried over if the document is saved as HTML and viewed using a browser.


WORKAROUND

If you want to print the document without the page numbers and leaders, save the document as HTML and open it using the browser. It then prints from the browser without those items.
