WD2000: Undocumented Index Field SwitchesID: Q220568
|
Microsoft Word 2000 includes two new field switches for the INDEX field that are not documented in Word Help.
NOTE: The only reference to these two new switches is in the Field Options dialog box. On the Insert menu, click Field. Under Field names, select Index and then click Options.
The INDEX field includes switches that allow the index to sort correctly for the language you specify. Languages that use the caret (^), tilde (~), and other accent characters have specific sorting rules that are observed when these switches are specified.
Switch Purpose
----------------------------------------------------------------
\y Enables the use of Yomi (Far East) text for index
entries. Example: {INDEX \c 2 \y }
\z "####" Defines the language ID that Word uses to generate
the index. Example: {INDEX \c 2 \z "1033" }
For more information about language support, click Microsoft Word Help on the
Help menu, type "What is language support?" in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard,
and then click Search to view the topics returned.Additional query words:
