In the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you can display the list for a ComboBox control when the UserForm is displayed by using the Activate event for the UserForm in Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications.
This article includes a sample Sub procedure that uses the DropDown method of a ComboBox and the Activate method of a UserForm to automatically display the list of a ComboBox control when a UserForm is displayed.

To create and use the example, follow these steps:
1. Close and save any open workbooks, and then create a new workbook.
2. On Sheet1, enter the following values:
A1: FTP
A2: GIF
A3: HTTP
A4: URL
A5: WWW
3. Start the Visual Basic Editor (press OPTION+F11).
4. On the Insert menu, click UserForm.
5. Draw a ComboBox control on the UserForm.
6. Double-click the UserForm to display the Code window for the UserForm.
7. In the Visual Basic module, type the following code for the UserForm
Activate event:
Private Sub UserForm_Activate()
ComboBox1.List = _
ActiveWorkbook.Sheets("Sheet1").Range("A1:A5").Value
ComboBox1.DropDown
End Sub
8. Click the UserForm to select it, and press F5 to run the UserForm.
When the UserForm appears, the list for ComboBox1 is visible.
