XL98: Run-time Error Setting MaxChange Property

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to change the MaxChange property in a Visual Basic for Applications macro, you may receive one of the following error messages:

   Run-time error '-2147319784 (80028018)':

   Method 'MaxChange' of object '_Application' failed

    -or-

   Run-time error '-2147319784 (80028018)':

   Automation error

To work around the problem, use the following line of code to set the MaxChange property

   ThisWorkbook.Parent.MaxChange = <number>

where <number> is the value that you want to set for the MaxChange property.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition.
