BUG: Form Manager Does Not Show Any Information

SYMPTOMS

If a user drops the Form Manager Design-Time Control (DTC) on an HTML page and then drops DTCs such as the Button DTC or Text Box DTC after the Form Manager, they will not see any choices in the Property page of the Form Manager DTC.

CAUSE

The problem is caused by having the Form Manager in front of the DTCs. At initialization time, the Form Manager cannot manipulate controls that are later in the page since they haven't been created at that time. This is true only for the DHTML case.

RESOLUTION

The user can work around this by dropping the Form Manager DTC at the bottom of the page below any of the other DTCs.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
