BUG: Undo Option Does Not Work After Switching to Quick View

SYMPTOMS

After making changes in Design view, then switching to Quick View, the Undo option is not functional.


RESOLUTION

After making changes in Design View, Undo all changes that you need to before switching into Quick View to preview the page. After switching into Quick View, all changes that need to be undone will have to be undone manually in either Design View or Source view.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a bug in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Create an Active Server Pages (.asp) or .htm page. Open it in Source view.


  2. Add an HTML Text box from the Toolbox onto the page.


  3. Switch to Design view.


  4. Make a change to the text box; either drag it larger or smaller.


  5. Switch to Quick view.


  6. Attempt to click the undo button in the toolbar, or select Undo from the Edit menu.


Both the toolbar button and the menu options are unavailable.
