Alps DC544 CD-ROM Changer Appears As Four CD-ROM DrivesID: Q188759
|
After you upgrade to Windows 98, the Alps DC544 CD-ROM changer may appear as four individual CD-ROM drives in My Computer or Windows Explorer.
This behavior can occur because the Alpstray.exe program does not work correctly in Windows 98.
To resolve this issue, use the Alps DC544 CD-ROM changer as if it is 4 different CD-ROM drives.
In Microsoft Windows 95, this CD-ROM changer could be configured by using
the Alpstray.exe program. Even though this program does not work
correctly, the functionality of the CD-ROM changer is not affected. The
third-party product discussed in this article is manufactured by a vendor
independent of Microsoft; we make no warranty, implied or otherwise,
regarding this product's performance or reliability.
