Cannot Open COM Port Using Nations Bank Business Express Program

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use Nations Bank's Business Express software, you may receive the following error message:

Unable to open communication port.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because Nation Bank Business Express is a 16-bit program which relies on the Comm.drv file to communicate with the communication (COM) ports.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, edit the System.ini file in the Windows folder and change the Comm.drv= line to the following:

comm.drv=comm.drv
