Cannot Uninstall MSN 5.0 from Windows 98 Second EditionID: Q229258
|
When you open the Add/Remove Programs tool in Windows 98 Second Edition to remove MSN, The Microsoft Network, version 5.0 from your computer, MSN is not displayed on the Install/Uninstall tab even though MSN is installed.
This behavior is because MSN is a core component of Windows 98 Second Edition and cannot be removed.
To work around this issue, you can disable MSN. To do this, click the MSN icon on the taskbar, point to MSN Options, and then click Turn MSN Off.
This behavior is by design.
Even if you disable MSN, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook Express continue to display the MSN logo in the upper-right corner.
