Code 8 Displayed for Plug and Play BIOS Device After UpgradingID: Q194175

After you upgrade Microsoft Windows 95 to Windows 98, an exclamation point
in a yellow circle may be displayed next to the Plug and Play BIOS device
in Device Manager. If you view the properties for the Plug and Play BIOS
device, the following status may be displayed:
This device is not working properly because the file (Bios.vxd) that
loads the drivers for this device is bad (Code 8). To fix this problem,
click Update Driver to update the driver for this device.
The best driver is already installed.
This behavior can occur if the Windows 95 version of the Bios.vxd file is in the Windows folder.
