Computer Hangs Using Disk Defragmenter on a Compressed DriveID: Q186590
|
When you try to run the Disk Defragmenter tool on a compressed drive, your computer may stop responding (hang).
This issue can occur if you are running the PC-Cillin 95 version 3.x Monitor.exe program.
To work around this issue, disable PC-Cillin 95 version 3.x before you start Disk Defragmenter. For information about how to disable Monitor.exe, consult the documentation included with PC-Cillin 95 version 3.x.
PC-Cillin 95's Monitor.exe program is an anti-virus program that loads
when you start your computer.
NOTE: You can use your computer while Disk Defragmenter is running,
however, Disk Defragmenter restarts if the contents of the drive you are
defragmenting change.
