When you attempt to connect to an external data source using Microsoft Query version 2.0 and Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5 or 7.0, the data source name may not be displayed.
This problem can occur after Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) is updated to a newer version that is not compatible with Query version 2.0.
To resolve this problem, install the Office 95 Year 2000 Update from the following Microsoft Web site:
http://officeupdate.microsoft.comTo work around this problem, create a new Data Source Name (DSN):
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem occurs only when the DSN is listed on the File DSN tab. The information on the File DSN tab is not used in Query version 2.0 or Microsoft Office 7.0 for Windows 95. This information is used in Microsoft Office 97.
