Duplicate Bitmap Fonts Appear in Fonts Tool After UpgradeID: Q187658
|
After you upgrade Microsoft Windows 3.x or Microsoft Windows for
Workgroups 3.x to Windows 98, the following bitmap fonts (.fon) may by
listed twice in the Fonts tool in Control Panel:
This problem occurs because the Fontreg.exe file that is run during Windows 98 Setup incorrectly migrates Windows 3.x and Windows for Workgroups 3.x .fon files.
To work around this problem, delete duplicate bitmap fonts in the Fonts tool. To do so, right-click the font you want to delete, and then click Delete.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 98.
Bitmap fonts that are listed twice in the Fonts tool are listed only once in programs.
