When you attempt to connect to CompuServe by double-clicking the CS3
Connection icon in Dial-Up Networking, you may receive the following error
message:
Error 691: The computer you are dialing in to cannot establish a Dial-Up Networking connection. Check your password, and then try again.
Error 691: The computer you're dialing in to cannot establish a Dial-Up Networking connection. Check your password, and then try again.
This behavior can occur if you have setup the CompuServe service from the Online Services folder on the Start menu and you have not connected to CompuServe through the CompuServe software included in Windows 98. The CompuServe setup does not finished until you connect to CompuServe though the CompuServe software to set up the default dial-up setting.
To resolve this issue, connect to CompuServe using the CompuServe software
included in Windows 98 to complete the CompuServe setup. To do so, follow
these steps:
