SYMPTOMS

When you are using the Novell IntraNetWare client (Client32 version 3.x) to log on and off a Novell NetWare 5 network, you may receive the following error message:

EXPLORER caused an Invalid Page Fault in SHELL32.DLL at 015f:7fce85c0


CAUSE

This error message is caused by a problem in the handling of the SHChangeNotify API by the Windows 98 version of the Shell32.dll file. This problem is known to occur at times when you are using the Novell IntraNetWare client in conjunction with the Novell NAL Explorer provided by Novell as part of Novell's ZENworks utility for NetWare 5.


RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
