SYMPTOMS

When you perform an unattended installation to upgrade to Windows 98 on a computer running Novell's NetWare/IP network protocol (included with the Novell Client32 network client), you may receive the following error message before Setup restart the computer the first time:

Please wait while W98SETUP retries request to a server in your NDS tree. To stop waiting, press ENTER. NetWare will return an error and try to reconnect in the background.

The message is repeated for the service connection and each authentication connection. After the computer reboots, Setup continues normally.


RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, click OK to continue the Setup process.
