Err Msg: Setup Had Trouble Copying a File Disk Write Fault...ID: Q185209
|
During Windows 98 Setup, you may receive the following error message:
Setup had trouble copying a file Disk Write Fault error #1d.
Invalid Device Request writing\reading device...
Duplicate filename or file in use
Cannot(copy\rename\delete) Cannot find the specified file.
Cannot Create or Access...
Access Denied
This behavior can occur if you try to access a file that has the same name as a terminate-and-stay-resident (TSR) device driver ID on your computer or the same name as a hardware port on your computer. For example, if your computer uses a CD-ROM driver with the device ID "MSCD001", you would be unable to access any file named "MSCD001".
To resolve this issue, run ScanDisk. To do so, click Start, click
Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click ScanDisk.
When you run ScanDisk, ScanDisk renames the files that have the same name
as the driver ID or hardware port.
