SYMPTOMS

When you try to use Microsoft Fax to send a fax, you may receive the following error message:

Send failed - invalid number.


CAUSE

This issue can occur if you try to send a fax to an address from an entry in your Address Book, and this entry has more than 52 characters in the "Name to appear on cover sheet" box.


RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, edit this entry so that the text in the "Name to appear on cover sheet" box is 52 characters or less.
