Error Running Batch Setup to Computer with Infrared PortID: Q201912
|
When you run a batch Setup of Windows 98, you may receive the following error message or one similar to it
where <file name> is the name of an Information (.inf) file.<file name> cannot be found in c:\windows\inf
This issue can occur if you use a batch Setup file created with the Microsoft Inf Installer tool to add additional .inf files during Windows 98 Setup over a network to a computer with a Plug and Play infrared port. When you do so, Setup may be unable to determine the path to files needed by an .inf file.
To work around this problem when you receive this error message, browse to the appropriate network server and share name that contains the Windows 98 Setup files, and then click OK.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Windows 98.
