File Appears Shaded After Removing the Hidden File AttributeID: Q208071

After you remove the hidden file attribute from a file on your Windows 98-based or Windows 95-based computer, the file may remain shaded and appear to still have the hidden file attribute.
This issue can occur if you make this change but do not refresh the screen.
To work around this issue, press F5 to refresh the screen after you have removed the hidden attribute from a file.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
